MBM/About
Mission · Vision · Founder · Board

Building champions
in character
and spirit.

MBM exists to give Toronto and Brampton youth and adults the same discipline, mentorship, and belonging that shaped our founder. We hold a high standard, warmly — and we work to make our youth program welcoming and accessible.

Mission

Mentorship
through discipline.

To enhance the quality of life for community members by providing mentorship programs tailored for at-risk youth and low-income families — creating meaningful career paths and opportunities that empower individuals to contribute positively to society.

Vision

Resilient
communities.

A world where every individual, regardless of background, has the guidance, opportunities, and support to thrive. Empowered youth. Resilient families. Inclusive communities that flourish with dignity, purpose, and shared prosperity.

Four principles.

Disciplined
not corporate
Serious about the craft. Calendars, schedules, follow-through. Never stiff.
Warm
not soft
We welcome everyone. We hold a high standard. Compassion has teeth.
Grounded
not generic
Local to Toronto and Brampton. Specific neighbourhoods. Real names, real streets.
Confident
not desperate
We invite people in. We never beg. We ask plainly for what we need.

Ifeanyi Ogene.

Shotokan · JKA Lineage

Ifeanyi Ogene’s teaching is rooted in Shotokan Karate through the Nigeria Karate Association, an organization affiliated with the Japan Karate Association (JKA). Taught by black belt instructors.

"Budo is the martial way of self-improvement, ethical conduct, and mental fortitude. We are building champions in sport and, more importantly, champions in life."

Coaching philosophy

Ifeanyi's coaching philosophy emphasizes the development of the "whole person" — mentally, physically, and morally. He instills the core values of respect, perseverance, and integrity in every student, preparing them to be champions in sport and, more importantly, champions in life.
